The writing style holds the interest of nonmajor students and includes recent geologic events they can relate to. It is the only book on the market that provides a theoretically consistent narrative across topic areas; it uses the stress model to explain that mental illness/distress is related to social status and social roles. Background information that is needed to understand the principles and significance of each exercise is presented in a concise manner, so that little or no support is needed from the lecture text. The color inserts are directly and effectively tied to the text and are referenced throughout. In addition to case applications, the authors use such techniques as content summaries to apply concepts to practice. Tough Test Questions? Missed Lectures? Not Enough Time? Fortunately, there’s Schaum’s. They created the Media Computation (MediaComp) approach, which motivates students to write programs that manipulate and create digital media, such as pictures, sounds, and videos.’Now in use in nearly 200 schools around the world, this contextualized approach to introductory Computer Science attracts students not motivated by classical algorithmic problems addressed in traditional computer science education.’ In this thorough update, the authors have included a new chapter on Hilbert spaces as well as integrating over 150 new exercises throughout. Also, it focuses more on systematic nomenclature than on unsystematic names that may have little use in the future. The textbook/film package grew out of the authors’ conviction that language learning is more than just learning skills: it is also a process in which understanding of culture must surely occupy a central position. Most importantly, much of the recent progress in cognitive studies has come from the advent of cognitive neuroscience, which uses neuroscientific methods and data to address psychological issues. This updated edition integrates important new trends, such as technological interoperability, seamless electronic information exchange, Building Information Modeling (BIM), and sustainable building practices. The author uses concrete analogies to relate math to everyday experiences. The text and accompanying resources also help students make connections between microbiology theory and disease diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. Sam Fullerton crafted this text to present the discipline of sports marketing in two broad perspectives.
