”Communication Electronics 3/e” is a comprehensive introduction to communication circuits and systems for students with a background in basic electronics. There is emphasis on using statistical software as a tool, (featuring Excel and Minitab) with many examples presented in a software environment. Fundamental concepts are discussed first, then more advanced and specialized features. Emphasizing hands-on contact with the music–through playing, singing, listening, and analyzing–it provides six chapters on theory, each illustrated with musical examples and fully worked-out analyses, all drawn largely from the ”classical” pre-war repertoire by Schoenberg, Stravinsky, Bartok, Berg, and Webern. A focus on the ”characters” who make up the stories of constitutional law–such as Dred Scott, Homer Plessy, Lillian Gobitis, Gordon Hirabayashi, Mary Beth Tinker, and Michael Hardwick–adds human faces and voices to the Supreme Court opinions, and introduces the fascinating players–with fundamental divisions of interest and values–who have had roles in making legal history. For undergraduate courses in Music Theory in departments of Music. The chapters that follow present twenty-three major theories: coverage of each theory also encompasses a biographical sketch of each theorist, related research, and applications to real life. Instructors and students can now access their course content through the Connect digital learning platform by purchasing either standalone Connect access or a bundle of print and Connect access. This allows a one-semester course to just cover the fundamentals if desired, and a professional to focus on advanced topics if he or she wants. Readers will appreciate Joyner’s engaging writing style and come away with the fundamental skills needed to listen critically to a variety of popular music styles. This text was written with four objectives in mind: although relatively brief in length, the text provides students with an up-to-date and thorough understanding of essential strategic management concepts and analytic tools; it simplifies the task of demonstrating student learning through course embedded assessment; the concepts are supported by contemporary, well-written cases involving headline strategic issues; and lastly, the text serves as the theoretical foundation of a teaching approach incorporating a business strategy simulation. Although the traditional nature of each sector’s product activity is analyzed, a greater emphasis is placed on new areas of activities such as asset securitization, off-balance-sheet banking, and international banking.
