This morning we were able to have proper breakfast before the activity for the day. We were the only ones in the restaurant, so no buffet breakfast was available, but there were several choices in breakfast menu. Not that bad option at all.
At 8.00 am, the car picked us up for the trip to Kulen Mountain, which is very important area for Cambodian people, Khmers. The drive there takes approximately 2 hours. When we arrived Phnom Kulen National park, first stop was at Kbal Spean River, River of 1000 Lingas, ancient Angkorian site. Walking along the river side we went further in to the jungle. It felt so good to be in the middle of the nature.
Next we went to see Preah Ang Thom pagoda with its giant reclining Buddha. The pagoda was on top of the hill, very small, just covering the big buddha.
Last stop in Phnom Kulen National Park was Kulen Mountain Waterfalls, the main attraction of the area. There were both local people as well as tourists, and it felt a bit crowded. One could have swam there, but the brown water wasn’t that temptating. We just walked along the river bench, took some pictures and returned to the car.
When we got back to the hotel, we went to the pool. There were no one else there, so when we arrived, the pool waterfall and jacuzzi were turned on for us. It was just nice to spend some easy time in the pool and enjoy cool moctails when lying on the deck chair.
It is time to pack again, new and totally different destination is waiting for us.
